Undisturbed Writing

Have you ever managed to start writing without distractions? I'm finding it difficult to do so. At the moment I have my two dogs demanding attention from me and I've already spent half an hour throwing a ball around for them to catch and yet they still want to play.
I've had the phone ringing from friends and relatives and mostly cold callers trying to convince me that new double glazing is THE thing to have.
I have a son trying to learn his bass guitar and the moans of an instrument being tortured comes down through the ceiling to kill my already bad ears.
Sometimes the neighbors will stand outside my window to chat or toot their car horns at each other and now and then my wife wants to discuss something.
So it is with a sense of wonder on my part that I have managed to write anything at all!
