Short stories

I've been transcribing my collection of stories that I'd written over the years onto word. So far things are going swimmingly well with four of them completed and a fifth nearly done.
To be honest I've surprised myself at just how good they are even though I'd written them over twenty five years ago and I've found myself enjoying the tales as I've gone along sprucing them up. It being so long ago I had forgotten what the stories were all about.
They are mostly fantasy stories very much in the Conan  mold with a brawling hero fighting his way across the dawn of a civilized world and in spite my trying for that pulp fiction feel I have enough plot differences to move them away from Howard's usual "find a girl, rescue a girl and kill anyone in the way" type of plots.
Yes, there are crumbling ruins, yes there are foul spawned creatures to be fought but in the main I've hanged enough plot lines in each of the tales to write a dozen stories from.
I reckon that if I have enjoyed writing the stories then you readers should too for they hark back to the days of the pulp fiction tales with lurid covers and beefy heroes.

I have decided that once done I will not only publish them on the Kindle but will also make them available on smashwords. The royalties are greater for one thing and the number of avenues open to my books are far wider than Amazon's. the exercise might be worthwhile as I reach a wider audience.
Unfortunately I'd applied for Kindles borrowing offer where each book borrowed lets me have a bit of money from the monthly pot that Amazon offer. The problem is, I can't let my books be available elsewhere. I've removed myself from this option but it won't take affect until October.
Once it clears however I will still remain with Kindle but I will also place my books with the aforementioned smashwords.
I'll keep you informed of how well it goes.

By the way, I've sold some of my books so there is an demand for my works, happily!
